(y/n) (l/n) had been gone too long. When she left, many secrets went along with her, most guarded in her journal. After traveling with the Doctor for several years, she wrote down the adventures involving her, the Doctor, and other companions such as Martha Jones and Donna Noble. From battling Daleks to waltzing with King Henry VIII, all of it was written down. She showed it to only Martha and Donna, leaving the Doctor bewildered. He understood her shyness around him and let it slip.

Of course, the day came when the Doctor stopped by (y/n)'s house to find it silent. Warily, he knocked on the door and found her mother. She was crying hysterically and gripping his suit tightly. He knew something was wrong.


"Mrs. (l/n), where's (y/n)?"


The (h/c) colored woman shrieked and removed herself from him; the mentioning of her daughter's name was heartbreaking. "Y-You don't know? She never told you?!" The older woman said in disbelief, shaking her head disapprovingly.


"Told me what? What is it?" Their eyes met and she gulped, collapsing onto the couch.


"My daughter..... I can't tell you. You have to go and see her for yourself!"


Without another word spoken, he and (y/n)'s mother rushed over to the hospital. The dark haired man found his way to her room and gasped at the scene in front of him.


(y/n), his precious (y/n), was asleep in the hospital bed. A monitor stood next to her, beeping occasionally. He ran to her side, his hand finding hers. "(y/n)?" He said softly, caressing the back of her hand.

You are sitting in a field of sunflowers. The sky is shining gallantly and all of nature seemed to be in peace. You're wearing a long flowing white dress, but no shoes. You liked being barefoot in this kind of environment. Your (h/c) hair sways in the wind as you start walking through the field, hands brushing against all the flowers.

"(y/n)!" Your brows furrow as you turn around and spot a familiar face off in the distance.


"Hello, Doctor! What are you doing here?" You smile as he makes his way to you, ducking the flowers that appear in his face. He has an excitement-filled smile as he meets you face to face.


"May I speak with you? It's urgent."



(Twenty Minutes Later)



"Y-You're going away? Why?" You look away from him and into the horizon as the sun begins to set. Much to your surprise, his hands cups your face in order to look at him.


It's tearing him apart.


"I don't want to leave you, (y/n). You're the one I would miss the most." Those words make tears spill from your eyes and softly, they're smoothed away.


"Please tell me why, Doctor. I might not be able to help much since all I'm good at is screwing up everything I've involved myself in...." You mutter sadly, a few more drops of the unsteady liquid fall from your eyes.


"Don't say that. You are one of the best things that has ever happened to me. That's why I love you."

Suddenly, you're embraced. Not a word comes out of your mouth. You're so shocked that you stop crying and burrow your face into his shoulder, murmuring, "I-I-I....I love you too...."


It's there when he pulls back and gently grazes your lips with his own.


You almost melt.


As you look into each others eyes, you notice the glint of joy in his tender brown eyes. "Come with me, (y/n), and we'll travel the entire galaxy!" He begins to fade away and you're given a decision: Go along with the Doctor or stay in your blissful and peaceful fantasy world where nothing can go wrong.


Instinctively, you reach for his hand....


-In The Real World-


The Doctor is staring at the last pages of the diary as the meter flatlines.

While I'm safe there in your arms




The doctor and nurses run inside and attempt to revive (y/n), but he knew there was nothing they could do.

"Oh, no…" His voice quivers as teardrops decorate the ink stained pages.
